Spurgeon Veggies CSA

Summer Share

Sign up for an 11-week period during peak summer production. This share includes all the staples of summer, such as green beans, tomatoes, potatoes, sweet corn, and zucchini, without the greens and root crops of the spring and fall. If greens aren’t your thing but summer veggies are, give this a try! Our lowest-cost option, summer shares are intended for families of 2-4. This share runs from June 28th through September 6th (11 weeks). When you’re signing up, be sure to select a pick up day and location that suits you best. Our farm stand pick up in Rio runs all day!

Summer shares begin just as we enter our peak production period in late June. If you’re not a big fan of the early spring kale and lettuces, the summer share might be for you. These will include all the best produce Illinois summers have to offer: new potatoes, green beans, cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes, sweet corn, bell peppers, eggplant, sweet onions, and so on. These shares will include few, if any, greens (kale, spinach, lettuce, etc), turnips, beets, radishes, green onions, dry beans, brussels sprouts, herbs, or other early spring/late fall items. The small share is our lowest-cost option, so if you’re still on the fence about joining the CSA, give this share a try. It’s ideal for smaller families or groups of 2-4.

Dates: June 28th through September 6th
